Megan Creydt is the Executive Producer of Story Development at Texas Monthly, where she leads the transformation of the magazine’s award-winning journalism into film, television, stage, and other narrative formats. In this role, Megan has been instrumental in developing major projects with platforms like HBO, Max, Paramount+, and Netflix; her executive producing credits include Landman (Paramount+) Hit Man (Netflix), Love & Death (HBO Max), and How to Create a Sex Scandal (HBO Max). She is also an executive producer on two 2025 feature documentaries: Night in West Texas, by Peabody Award-winning director Deb Esquenazi, and Take It Away: The Rise and Fall of Tejano Hollywood, by Adrian Arredondo and Myrna Perez. 


Since joining Texas Monthly in 2018, Megan has also served as Digital Managing Editor and overseen new story platforms, guiding the publication through critical shifts in digital storytelling, video, and podcasts. She recently worked with legendary Texas Monthly writer Skip Hollandsworth on She Kills (Harper), a 2025 anthology of stories featuring women whose often sensational crimes and circumstances put them on the wrong side of the law. 


Prior to joining Texas Monthly, Megan held senior editorial roles as Copy Chief at MTV News and at Grantland, and began her editorial career at New York Magazine. She is a graduate of Harvard College and lives in Austin with her two children, Clara and Owen.
